Abstract
The investigation of damping in two-phase air-water cross-flow is discussed in this paper. A design guideline had been proposed by Pettigrew et al. (1994). In this paper, new set of air-water experiments is analysed. It is observed that the above guideline is too conservative and that flow velocity needs to be used to account for the scatter of data. Then, a new reduction of data is proposed and dependence of fluid damping with reduced velocity is investigated.
