The BIGAS pilot plant at Homer City, Pennsylvania is presently undergoing startup. Materials selections for the pilot plant design were based on petroleum and chemical industries technologies using available materials of construction. Some extraordinary process conditions which required special design techniques are discussed along with presentation of material selections for the major items of equipment.
